INCI: Ferulic Acid

Our ferulic acid is a pure, natural antioxidant derived from rice bran. It reduces fine lines, wrinkles and age spots. It helps increase skin elasticity and tone and is said to repair UV-induced skin damage. It stimulates collagen and elastin production and suppresses UV-induced oxidative reactions. Ferulic acid also works synergistically with vitamins C and E to enhance their effectiveness and has shown excellent anti-inflammatory properties in numerous scientific studies. Ferulic acid is easily absorbed by the skin.
Because of its ability to repair sun-damaged skin, it is an important ingredient in skin creams.

Ferulic acid is soluble in:
0.5 % in ethanol or propylheptyl caprylate at room temperature.
0.5 % in pentylene glycol, propylene glycol or glycerol after heating (50 - 80°C)
0.2 % is partially soluble in amaranth, sunflower oil or caprylic/capric triglycerides after heating (50 - 80°C)

Ferulic acid is insoluble in:
0.2 % in oil at room temperature and after heating (olive, jojoba and avocado oil)
0.5 % in oil at room temperature and after heating (apricot kernel, amaranth and sunflower oil)
0.5 % at room temperature and after heating in isoamyl laurate and caprylic/capric triglycerides
